The delicate job of handling U.S. foreign policy in Egypt

After a lengthy hiatus, the Political Prescription’s website is back and I promise more regular updates. Full disclaimer: I started a new job. Between that and all of the other delicious things I find myself doing, it’s taken some time to get back into writing. Here it goes…

Many are upset over the lukewarm and almost timid response from the White House regarding the uprising in Egypt. Criticisms from both sides, national and international are dominating the news cycle as the uprising and now violence continues across Egypt. The White House and State Department have no easy job. President Hamsi Mubarak has been a loyal ally of the United States during his thirty year reign. He is arguably Israel’s top Arab ally and was among the first to recognize Iraq’s new government.
