Jury duty to potentially postpone return to air

The radio gods are not forgiving so far this year. With a day finally free from the binds that is work, the Political Prescription was set to return to the air this Wednesday (4/6). However, a jury summons appeared in Dr. J’s mailbox a few weeks back and after today’s incredible first day (which included watching Ken Burns’ Jazz and reading The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt), he was dismissed until, you guessed it, Wednesday. If something changes, an update will be posted on the website.

Also, keep checking back for Dr. J’s column appearing in this week’s Sentinel. The column will be cross posted once it’s available online.

Thanks KSU Radio and the Political Prescription returns on 4/6!

Last night, KSU Student Media held their annual Student Media Awards. This isn’t going to be long, but I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone at KSU Radio. I was named Alumni of the Year and also nominated for Radio Personality of the Year. While these certainly aren’t the Oscars, it’s a blessing to be recognized by your friends and colleagues.

Also, in exciting news, the Political Prescription will return to the air on April 6th, from 2-4PM. I’ve been working at the state capitol this year and it’s taken away from my abilities to broadcast and blog. This will change very soon! This coming week will be the last Wednesday session is held, meaning we can return to the air.

I hope you can all tune in for our much anticipated return!

Show TODAY, 2-4PM

By Joel Mendelson

Hello prescribers!

The Political Prescription returns today after a week off due to the epic snowstorm that gripped Atlanta for the better part of a week. Plenty to discuss as we’ve not had a show since the awful shootings in Tucson, the rise in President Obama’s approval ratings, continued stupidity by Sarah Plain and of course the GOP’s effort to repeal health care reform which will be voted on later today. The Prescription will also discuss President Obama’s upcoming state of the union address scheduled for next Tuesday (1/25) evening.

There will be plenty to discuss and devour as this two week delay has brought an incredible amount of news, so don’t forget to tune in this afternoon! Catch us live on www.ksuradio.com, ustream or stream us on iTunes.

In the meantime do yourself a favor and grab a copy of the Decemberists new album the King Is Dead. Just two weeks into the new year and we already have our first great album of the year. Beautiful country-folk songs from everyone’s favorite group named after a month of the year.

Speaking of music, over the last couple of weeks I’ve had the pleasure to join my friends Jason Chitwood, Will Avery and Chance Strickland in starting a new band named Shea’s Gin. We recorded a few demos in Athens last weekend and you can find them here. Let us know what you think!

Catch you all in radioland this afternoon!
